Introducing: Henning Lange

  • Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Henning and I studied in Jena to become a teacher in Physics/Maths/Astronomy and got the work experience for 2 years in Wolfsburg. Now I’m working at the TU-BS in the STEM-project to help to innovate school life - after all, I got to witness how many teachers gave up under the high pressure and long workdays that plague the institution. I help with the coordination of the project and participate in the discussions surrounding all work packages, and focus on the implementation at schools (WP3) and support the research in the didactics department of all three major movement components.

  • What is your favorite story about joy of movement?

The feeling of opportunity that one can achieve while jogging within a difficult time.

  • What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Jogging on a snowy mountain in Jena (the “Jenzig”) on a December afternoon

  • What would you tell your younger self?

Be more courageous and follow your creative interests.

  • How can we use joy of movement to change the world?

We could use it to motivate people to become more active. This would support a more varied and healthy lifestyle and get more people to take off their mind from stressful thoughts.

  • If SINN-i could do one thing, what would it be?

Helping students to perceive the interconnectivity of the school subjects in everyday life (using movement as a great example)
