Teaching students science and technique about cycling- The Songo Center in Stellenbosch (Kayamandi) has introduced a teaching module for STEM through cycling and bicycles – a programme developed in our STEM on the Move project. In collaboration with the Universität Braunschweig, ADFC Bayern and the University of Stellenbosch, resources were created so that the children have every opportunity to complete their schooling in the best possible way, acquire life skills, grow and develop personally. A localised STEM curriculum is being tested and developed, so that children from young ages learn about the workings of bicycles, and the technology and science behind it, its history, and how its various components also are used in other everyday settings.
We are pleased to read Dawid Botha’s article on the project, published in netwerk24, here: https://www.netwerk24.com/ZA/Eikestadnuus/Nuus/teaching-science-tech-via-cycling-20210929-2

We are happy about the progress in this project, thank all the partners and look forward to the next events in STEM on the Move!
