Introducing: Steve Haake

Steve Haake (Sheffield Hallam University)
  • Who are you and what do you do?

I am a sports engineer working on active travel, analytics and parkrun.

  • What is your favorite story about joy of movement?

Before the start of a parkrun in Cheltenham, they introduced a runner who’d had a heart attack and was now walking parkrun as part of his rehabilitation. Everyone cried.

  • What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

I am too boring to be crazy.

  • What would you tell your younger self?

    Don’t be so serious!

  • How can we use joy of movement to change the world?

Help people who are inactive become active: just two 10 minute bursts can reduce the risk of all sorts of diseases.

  • If SINN-i could do one thing, what would it be?
